Also based on the reputation a witness may have of being truthful or untruthful you can try and determine whether the witness is being truthful. Overall roughly 6 out of 10 wrongful convictions are due to intentional lying or wrongful accusations. This reality shows that the legal system cannot rely on human credibility alone.
